Joshua is a clinical academic pharmacist and early-career researcher at the Newcastle Centre of Excellence in Cardio-Oncology. He received his pharmacy degree from the University of Newcastle in 2018 with First Class Honours, was awarded the University’s Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Career Preparation Scholarship, and completed his PhD in Pharmacy in 2026.
As a pharmacist, Joshua’s research focuses on improving the safe and effective use of medicines for people with cardiovascular disease. This includes developing new services that give more people access to pharmacist support to prevent medication-related problems, especially as they move between hospital and home. His goal is to improve access to cardiovascular care that involves the whole healthcare team, from doctors to pharmacists, nurses and allied health, for all Australians.
Joshua has produced over 10 peer-reviewed publications and abstracts and has presented at national and international conferences. He is a credentialled pharmacist and continues to work clinically, providing Home Medicine Review services for his community.
