Professors Doan Ngo and Aaron Sverdlov served on the steering committee and presented at the inaugural Australian Cardio-Oncology Research and Education Symposium (ACORES), held at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Sydney on 14-15 March 2026.
As Australia’s first dedicated cardio-oncology symposium, ACORES brought together clinicians, researchers and educators from across the country to advance research, education, clinical practice and national collaboration in this rapidly evolving field. The meeting focused on translating the latest evidence into improved cardiovascular care and better long-term outcomes for people living with and beyond cancer.
This year’s multidisciplinary programme featured leading national experts who delivered practical, clinically relevant insights across a range of key topics, including:
- Emerging models of cardio-oncology care
- Cancer survivorship pathways and multidisciplinary coordination
- Cardiotoxicity prevention and management
- Complex case discussions and real-world clinical challenges
The symposium provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration and innovation, helping to strengthen Australia’s growing cardio-oncology community.
